Available Scholarships
This scholarship is for students who live in Beaver Township. The application and a short essay are required.
Deadline is received May 1.
Memorial Presbyterian Church (MPC) offers ten different scholarships (some with more than one recipient) each year based on different criteria assigned by the families that have donated the funds.
In the past few years we have consolidated the application process down to one common application to be used for all scholarships. The process is all done online and we continue to search for ways to make it as efficient as possible for students to apply.
Charlotte B. Currie Memorial Scholarship - $2,500 per year for 4 years is given to six seniors in Midland County. This scholarship is intended to promote leadership and help make college attainable.
- Dale Thomas Dean Memorial Scholarship - $2,000 scholarship is for a senior from a school in Midland County.
- Beth Ann Hodges Memorial Scholarship - $2,000 scholarship is for a senior from Dow High or Midland High. Preference is given to financial need, academic merit, and service to community, school and church. Special attention will be given to experience and talent in the field of vocal music.
- Laurie Ann Karpiuk-Dickerson Memorial Scholarship - $1,500 scholarship is for a senior from Dow High. Preference is given to financial need, academic merit and service to community, school and church.
- Rev. Dr. Wallace Howard Mayton III and Lindsay Abbott Mayton Scholarship - $1,150 scholarship is for a senior from Midland County to help with the costs of college.
- Operation Fun Anniversary Scholarship - $1,500 scholarship is for a senior who lives in Mills Township. Special consideration is given to students who are alumni of the Operation Fun Day Camp program or staff.
- Winston Trust Memorial Scholarship - $2,000 scholarship is to a senior who will be attending a college or university affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, such as Alma College.
The application is now open on our website and the deadline for applications is April 19, 2024.
This scholarship is available for those pursuing a degree or certificate in advanced manufacturing or skilled trades.
Recognition of the award includes a presentation at your high school as well as recognition at the GLBMA Golf Outing in September. In addition, you will need to submit a photo and bio for the GLBMA website.
Application period is February 1st through March 30th.
Award recipients will be announced in April.
Each year, we award scholarships to a limited number of students from the area.
Our criteria are simple. We consider their grades, their goals for the future, and what they’ve done to make a positive impact in their community. Our goal is just as simple. To reward kids for trying their best … because that effort is essential in building the self-worth of our young people.

This $2,000 scholarship over four years, is for seniors in the Great Lakes Bay area who plan to major in chemical engineering at an accredited program.

This is a teacher preparation program recruiting high school seniors through college sophomores in Michigan who have the determination and drive to be great teachers.
They are hosting a virtual information session for interested students on Friday, March 15th at 3pm.
